# Large Campus Quests (The Goblins)
My Involvement
A few years ago now (December 22nd, 2019) I cofounded and led the policy/advocacy arm of a mental health org on my campus known dually as Large Campus Quests and, to many students, The Goblins. We grew from a couple of students in a dorm room to over 200 students in less than 2 weeks thanks to a lot of memes and a pursuit of reducing the dismal suicide rate on our campus. Over time, we have outstripped MST Residential Life on successful student events using ~$250/year (less than 1% of the budget ResLife made available to students each year) with some joyfully chaotic student events that drew in both campus admin and new members. We created a campus survey to find the largest issues students struggle with using psychometric techniques and best practices. We partnered with various offices and the Chancellor to create and spearhead 5 initiatives to increase mental health on our campus: better Equity and Title IX intake, increased student emergency funds, academic advising overhauls, a call/text resources hotline, and, finally, allowing students to attend funerals on test days and similar events. We were joined by around 400 students and reached over 1000 on our campus with our mental health resources and surveys, which is larger than any other independent student org on campus. I did a 50 page technical writeup written in accessible language on how it worked based on Organizational Development science so that we can bring it to other campuses.
Current Product and Movement
First off, a read-only preview version will be available in the next few days/weeks. If you would like access, my email is: sebastianwilson999@gmail.com.
The lead of the new Council, Noor, and I are working together to take the Org Dev writeup previously mentioned and put it in a much more practical and digestable form. We are using the open source productivity suite Nextcloud (beta images are pictured below and will change significantly) and currently loading it with documentation, notes, task lists, Deck Cards (similar to Trello), useful files, surveys, information on stumbling blocks, and other resources that will allow other schools to create a student network org without stumbling through it for a year like we did. I can only imagine how much easier things would have been had we had this! But others will, now. Access to copies will be free to students, but consulting services for Administration in other Universities will have pricing based on what they need from me. We are also working with another consulting firm for beta testing and working with administration at MST Rolla to come up with a truly great product we can all stand behind.

The promised preview images. In order, we can see the Home page, an overview of the Deck function (similar to Trello), a card within the deck, a test of the collaborative editing feature, a sample form, a tasks list, the chat feature, and the file share.
